AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Letter from the President

Hey there!
I am Ashton Garman, Chapter President of Tau Omicron, and I would like to welcome you on behalf of all the sisters of AOII at UT Martin. Tau Omicron has been a part of the University of Tennessee at Martin’s campus since 1966, making it 54 of the best years. I would like to give you a little recap of our year. We raised money for the Weakley County Backpack Program, Weakley County Carl Perkins Center, St. Jude, and the Arthritis Foundation. We raised $6,000.00 for The Arthritis Foundation through our Drive for Ford Event, which was an amazing milestone for our chapter. In the Fall of 2019, we welcomed 30 amazing new members, and they are our pride and joy! Over the years our chapter has competed in Homecoming events such as Lip Sync, Pyramid, Rope Pull, as well as Line Dance and Step Show during Greek Week. Though our year was cut short, our sisterhood has thrived during these past few months as we have bonded through virtual sisterhoods. A few of these included Netflix watch parties, virtual workout sisterhoods, and my personal favorite, cooking sisterhoods! Not even a world-wide pandemic can stop this wonderful sisterhood that we have from getting stronger and stronger.
Our chapter’s motto is “Together for one.” I strongly believe in this because our chapter is all so different, but we have one thing in common: a love for AOII, and a passion to make a difference in the world. We are so excited that you are interested in AOII and the Greek Life community. Feel free to check out our website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn more about us. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Alpha Love, Ashton Garman
