ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We’re proud to continue this legacy of service at Tau Omicron! Here’s how we’re making an impact in our community:During the fall semester alone, our chapter raised nearly $7,000 through a variety of philanthropic initiatives supporting arthritis awareness and research. Some of our most successful events included our Back-to-School Stop and Shop featuring local vendors, a fundraiser with our local nutrition tea shop, our All Day for Arthritis event, and chapter sweatshirt sales. Through these efforts, we not only raised funds for a cause close to our hearts but also strengthened connections with local businesses and community members. We are honored to support the Arthritis Foundation while making a meaningful impact both on campus and throughout the Martin community.
